Делегација Америчко-израелског комитета за јавне послове (American Israel Public Affairs Committee, AIPAC), на челу с председником Мајклом Тучином, посетила је Меморијални центар ”Старо сајмиште”, где су их примили директорка др Кринка Видаковић Петров и г. Миомир Ђорђевић, председник УО ове установе и државни секретар Министарства за рад, запошљавање, борачка и социјална питања Републике Србије. Видаковић Петров представила је члановима делегације AIPAC и гостима у њиховој пратњи мисију и визију Меморијалног центра, националне установе културе коју је Влада Србије утемељила пре две године, а која је посвећена истраживању и меморијализацији Јеврејског логора Београд Топовске шупе, Јеврејског логора Земун и Проходног логора Земун. Уваженим гостима предочени су основни подаци о овим логорима, о страдању Срба, Јевреја, Рома, као и других појединaца и група који су били мета репресивне и расистичке политике немачких нацистичких и хрватских фашистичких власти у логорима на Сајмишту. Представљени су досадашњи рад Меморијалног центра као и пројекти који су у току или се планирају за следећу фазу рада. Потом су гости обишли Централну кулу, чија је рестаурација недавно завршена. У отвореном и пријатељском дијалогу размењена су мишљења и размотрене могућности сарадње.

Delegation of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee Visits the Memorial Center “Staro Sajmište“

The delegation of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), headed by President Michael Tuchin, visited the Memorial Center „Staro Sajmište“, where they were hosted by director Dr. Krinka Vidaković Petrov and Mr. Miomir Đorđević, Chair of the Managerial Board of this institution and state secretary of the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia. Vidaković Petrov presented to the AIPAC delegation and guests accompanying them the mission and vision of the Memorial Center, a national cultural institution that the Government of Serbia established two years ago as an organization dedicated to the research and memorialization of the Jewish Camp Belgrade Topovske Šupe, the Judenlager Semlin and the Anhaltelager Semlin. The distinguished guests were presented with the basic facts regarding these camps, the victimization of Serbs, Jews, Roma, as well as other individuals and grоups targeted by the repressive and racist policies implemented by nazi German and fascist Croatian authorities regarding the camps at Sajmište. The director drew attention to the achievements of the Memorial center, current projects and those planned for the future. The guests then toured the Central Tower whose restoration was recently completed. The exchange of views and consideration of possible cooperation were discussed in an open and friendly dialogue.
